Stubai Valley: snow sports at the largest glacier ski resort in Austria

Winter holidays on the Mount Olympus of skiing

At Austria's largest glacier ski resort, it’s all about altitude. The 3S-Eisgratbahn cable car takes you to what feels like the Mount Olympus of skiing: At 3,210 metres above sea level, a true winter paradise lies at your feet – with snow-sure conditions from October to June.

You can test your skiing skills on 36 slopes in all difficulty levels. For the marathon skiers among you, there is also a ten-kilometre downhill run. The starting point is the mountain station of the 3S-Eisgratbahn. From there, the route takes you all the way down to the valley station – in total, you’ll cover a difference in altitude of 1,500 metres. Are you up for the challenge?

By the way: You can experience a moment of peace and quiet on the TOP OF TYROL viewing platform at an altitude of 3,210 metres. From the platform, you’ll enjoy scenic vistas of 109 three-thousand-metre peaks.

Our RENTertainers recommend

Night sledging on the Elfer sledging runs: The cable car takes you and your friends up to the mountain station on Elfer. Once you reach the top, you’ll quickly notice: The snow-covered sledging runs are simply made for fun and action. They have even been awarded the “natural sledging run seal of quality” by the federal state of Tyrol.

Perfect for night owls: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you can go night sledging there. The last cable car up to the summit leaves at 19:00. Forgot your sledge at home? No problem! You can rent one at the valley station.
