Samoëns: a winter sports paradise in Le Grand Massif

Skiing for everyone – families, advanced snow sports pros or gold medallists

Samoëns is a charming mountain village in the French Alps, in the heart of the Haut-Giffre region. Situated at the foot of Aiguille de Criou (2,207 metres above sea level), the village offers an impressive mountain panorama – and it’s only 45 minutes by car from the city of Geneva.

Samoëns ski resort also boasts great offers for families: In addition to six very easy and eight easy and medium-difficulty slopes, 14 lifts quickly take you up into the ski resort and to your next descent.

By the way: Samoëns ski resort, together with the winter sports resorts of Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt, Fer à Cheval and Flaine, forms the Le Grand Massif ski region – one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in France. Another exciting piece of information: French gold medalist Antoine Deneriaz practised his turns in Le Grand Massif for many years.

Our RENTertainers recommend

Budding freestyle pros can try their hand at the obstacles at Ze SeptiSnake beginner area near Samoëns. The Grand Massif Express cable car takes you up the mountain. In the middle section of the descent, you will find the action-packed fun area for youngsters.

Good to know: A drag lift was installed in this area so that little park rats won’t lose any time practising their "tricks" and jumps.
