Even as late as March, Mottaret and Méribel often get over half a metre of fresh snow. The slopes and descents, 85 per cent of which are located higher than 1,800 metres above sea level, are typically bathed in sunshine, which makes the region especially popular with leisure skiers.

Valley run from Sommet de la Saulire (2,738 m) to Mottaret
The Pas du Lac cable car takes you directly from Méribel-Mottaret to 2,700-metre Sommet de la Saulire. Besides the unrivalled views, it’s the unique characteristics of the descent to Mottaret that delight winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world.
Please note: This descent is only suitable for experienced skiers and snowboarders. The same applies to the run from Sommet de la Saulire to Méribel – the longest descent in the entire ski area.
