Fun in the snow on and off the slopes
A slightly lesser-known detail: Krimml is also an ideal destination for skiing enthusiasts, providing access to the Zillertal Arena from the Salzburg side. The majority of ski runs in the Hochkrimml ski resort are blue and red runs, with one challenging black piste for experienced skiing enthusiasts.
To prolong your time on the slopes, you can also venture further into the Ziller Valley. In the towns of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos and Wald-Königsleiten, numerous additional kilometres of ski runs are waiting for you.
Away from the slopes
Even for the most passionate skiers and snowboarders, exploring activities away from the slopes is truly worthwhile in Krimml. The options are as varied as the stunning surroundings. How about trying cross-country skiing or a ski tour near the waterfalls, for instance? Snowshoes provide an excellent means to venture into the picturesque winter landscape. And for those in the mood for a faster-paced activity: Just grab your friends and loved ones and go on an adventurous downhill ride on the local sledging run!
By the way: When it comes to equipment for activities on or off the slopes, you have a wide range to choose from at the local INTERSPORT Rent shops. This includes alpine skis, snowboards, as well as gear for ski touring, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, sledges and other snow sports essentials.

Our RENTertainers recommend
To conclude an eventful day of skiing in a mesmerizing manner, we recommend a torch-lit hike to the largest waterfalls in Europe. You can go on an atmospheric tour to the illuminated waterfalls every Wednesday from the end of December to the end of March – a unique spectacle that you definitely shouldn’t miss!
